Through different seasons I always end up finding my new favourite colour for that time of year. At the beginning of Spring this year I came across a nude polish by Loreal titled Walk on the beach. I cannot begin to describe how much I adore this shade. The polish itself is so great, its not too thin so two coats is perfect coverage and it dries fairly quickly with the perfect amount of shine. I have a feeling I will be wearing this polish throughout the entire year. Another colour that I am obsessed with this summer is titled Club Havana by Wet n' Wild. I cannot believe the quality of this polish after spending less than $3 for it. The polish is very pigmented so with skill one coat would be sufficient. The colour is a beautiful mix of coral and a subtle orange. I do not think I would ever be daring enough to slap on an orange polish but this one is perfectly in between.
Last night I got my nails filed and ready for a fresh coat of polish and it seems I am always torn between these two shades I have trouble deciding which one to go with. Both! So the only thing I could do was wear both shades in a French manicure style and I adore the two shades together just as much as apart.
Much Love and Happy Friday!!

Nail Tutorial...Nude and Mint French Manicure
I have seen photos and tutorials for nails with people using paper hole reinforcements, I couldn't find my nail strips for a french manicure. I thought why not...they seem to work well for everyone else. So I tried it, and was sadly disappointed in the end result. Not only did they not stick to my nails very well, they were way to small for some of my nails i.e. my thumbs. (I had to use 3 on my thumbs) Which gave a sort of wonky result instead of the clean crisp line I was aiming for. But oh well live and learn....I tried it and its ok when you don't have any other options. I chose to use A walk on the beach by Loreal which is a nude polish, for the tips I used Mint Sorbet by Sally Hansen. I love the colour combination, so I will certainly be doing this again in the future. I will however substitute the reinforcements for proper nail strips.

Au Champagne
I have been in love with this new ORLY Nail Laquer that I got in my stocking for Christmas. I love white nail polish. The crisp white is so nice and it matches literally everything you wear! When I got this new white called Au Champagne I fell head over heels in love with it. It is a frosty white with a semi-matte finish to it. I particularly like polishes that have a matte finish and this one has a perfect finish. The almost Sparkly look to the polish is perfect as well. Not too much but just the right amount of sparkle against the matte is so unique! Another unique a fun thing about this polish is that the lid has a rubber finish to it that makes for a great non-slip handle on the brush! Speaking of the brush, I find a good applicator adds to how well the polish goes on and this one was perfect! The polish also dries so differently than others that I have. It dries very hard and stays on without chipping for SO long. We are talking like a week and a half to two weeks without any chipping(if you aren't overly rough on your hands and nails) which is VERY impressive! Overall I love the polish and have my eye out for more colours from this Brand.

Goodbye Pink....Hello Grey! Cold weather polish!
I know, I know it has been too long since my last post but I have been beyond busy the past couple of weeks. But I am back and promise to keep up with my posts!
Last night I was looking through my polish and thinking to myself "what is going to be my colour of Fall 2011?". Each season I find that I have my go to colour for nail polish. I switch it up every now and then but I tend to wear one colour more than the others. I recently purchased a new polish and looking at it knew right away that 'this was the one'. The colour is called 'Steel Grey' and I absolutely adore it. The grey has a slight undertone of purple to it which makes it much more interesting than plain grey. Needless to say I am going to be sporting this colour through fall, winter and spring quite often!
As for a few colours that I will be switching it up with every so often here are some of my other favs in my collection that is ever growing!
I love the almost dusty rose colour above! As you can see for the cooler weather I love more muted colours and neutrals.
Everyone must have a great nude polish!
Gold.....nothing else needs to be said its fabulous and I adore my Sephora by OPI gold, 2 coats and my fingers dazzle!
HAPPY WEEKEND! xxxx

Solution to my jewelry organization!
Keeping my jewelry neatly organized used to be such a headache for me. I have and adorable jewelry box but it always seemed too small to hold all my oversized rings, bracelets and bangles, dangly earrings and large pendant necklaces. My necklaces were always getting tangled together no matter how neat and tidy I kept each compartment. Finally I had enough and decided that it was time to find a solution.
The solution to my tangled mess of jewelry came in the form of an adorable little shelf with hangers. Not only does it keep my necklaces and larger pairs of earrings neat and tidy but it displays them like a little piece of art in our bathroom.
I was not sure what to put on the top shelf but looking on the counter in the bathroom I saw the nail polish bottles for the summer season shoved in a corner. With the changing seasons I am always changing my nail polish choices to suit the time of year. So now I have the perfect little spot for the select colours I am wearing during any season. I love being able to have a place for everything, it makes finding things so much easier, that rooting under the sink in the basket I keep all my colours in. Or detangling a mess of chains in my jewelry box.
I am loving this bathroom more and more each time I add something new. I was very hesitant about painting the room purple as I am more of a neutral tone kinda girl. But when the hubby gave me the go ahead to make this bathroom my own (seeing as I already took it over with all my stuff) I thought why not? I love it its my little girly oasis. The rest of the house (besides my office) is suited towards the both of us. So I love having my own little space to get ready each day.
Enjoy!

Marbled Nail Polish Design
I love the way this nail design looks and the best part is its SO simple. I chose subtle colours for my'n but you can mix any colours of your own.
Start With a glass of water, your nail polish choices and some tooth picks.
Add a couple drops of each colour choice into the water, which will create a large circle.
Use your toothpick to make your design pulling in towards the middle of the circle.
Dip your finger into the circle until the whole nail is submerged.
Once your nail is covered swirl your toothpick around in the water and all the left over polish will stick. Thus leaving you with a clean slate for your next nail!
Clean around the edges of the nail and VOILA! You have yourself marbled nails. See its that easy! Try using brighter colours and multiple to get a funky design!

Curiosity often leads to trouble....Summer Nail Trends
In keeping with my previous post, I will just add I cannot go a day without my nails being painted. They have been painted for so long that I am not used to them being bare. This being said, I wanted to try out a new summer nail trend that I have been spotting for some time now. I never thought of painting my nails entirely white, maybe the tips but the whole nail? Well....I tried it and I love it! The polish I used has shine to it, although I would also like to try a white nail polish that has a matte finish.
There is just something about white that makes it so comforting to me. (maybe because my bed sheets have always been a crisp white, and whats more comfortable than bed?) The crisp and clean shade is perfect for summer! Although I may have to sport this colour year round.
The beautiful Orchid in these photos is thanks to my wonderful father as part of my birthday gift this past sunday. I have always wanted an orchid, they are so beautiful and there is nothing like having fresh flowers in the house. Lets just hope they aren't as hard to keep as it seems!

Summer Nail Trends - Summer 2011 - Before you paint the town paint your nails.
Nail polish is something every woman should have time for. Not only is it a fun way to spice up and outfit, but it can be a great accessory.
This summers polish trends are strikingly vibrant (which I happen to love). Vibrant nail polish adds a fun and flirty twist! Here are some popular shades this season.
Mint greens with there subtle pastel colour are cute and bright while still keeping a toned down look. Great for the office and the beach!
Mimosa has also upped the anti this summer in the bright department, its like little rays of sunshine on each finger tip.

And don't forget the go to hot pink. This shade is one of my favourites and when this polish comes out of hiding for the winter, I know summer has arrived!
